In Ancient Egypt – Khepra, the Sun deity whose name means ‘He Who Is Coming Into Being.’ Khepra whose image is the scarab, another symbol of transformation, seems to pervade every vestige of me right now.
My personal life, my views, my work, my ‘people’ interactions, my spirituality which directly effects my writing and my jewelry is coming into being. I can feel something deep, dark and primal being birthed. Most evident here in my latest creation – christened Dark Khepra. A beautiful jeweled ensemble of dark stones framing an Ancient Egyptian Cartouche of Khepra.
Dark stones are perfect to symbolize, just in color alone, the subconscious from which we are all birthed. Also the dark night, the deeps of space, the fertile soil all which carries the seeds of life, birth and re-birth. Black the absence of color – giving us the blank slate waiting to be written on with the vibrant chalk of destiny.
I have chosen Black Tourmaline as one of the stones for this mystical energetic necklace. Black Tourmaline which not only gives us the safety of protection from negative energies so we can change but keeps us grounded to earth. Black tourmaline helps us work through our root chakra so that we can gain the nourishment we need to come into being as we ground to the sacred earth.
This lovely creation hums with life, vibrancy and a personality of its own. As I wove the different gemstones together, this beautiful necklace ‘came into being’. My very hands tingled with the energy transmitted when it was completed. I most definitely will be making another one to sell in my studio and one for me to wear, besides this initial one for the customer.
